Aspen is a historic Colorado resort, the old mining town has turned into a posh resort but not only is it vibrant and offers plenty of events for young people and families.
There are 4 very different ski areas: “Ajax” is rather sporty and complete; “Highlands” is wilder and reserved for Freeride enthusiasts, it is frequented mainly by locals; “Buttermilk” is dedicated to Freestyle and beginners; finally “Snowmass” is larger, easier and also more popular.
It can be reached directly by plane and the station being located far from Denver remains rather quiet on weekends, city dwellers not making the road for the day.
